PLATTSBURGH, NY – The Plattsburgh baseball club of the Empire League has announced the new name for the team. The name was suggested and voted by fans and supporters of the local baseball team.

The team will be called the Plattsburgh Thunderbirds which symbolizes the military history  in the Plattsburgh community. The Empire League heavily supports military, police, fire fighters, first responders and law enforcement. The league and the Thunderbirds will be  giving away free tickets to all   military, police, fire fighters, first responders and law enforcement personnel during every Monday game and has labeled the day, Military Mondays.

The Plattsburgh Thunderbirds will be a part of one of the best  pro baseball developmental organizations in the country.
