ISLANDERS REYNOSO WINS WINTER LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP AND NAMED TO ALL TEAM HONORS

SAN JUAN, PR – Puerto Rico Islanders right handed relief pitcher Eddy Reynoso has worked his way into winning a Puerto Rico Professional Winter League title with the Cangrejeros de Santurce.

The Cangrejeros defeated the Mayaguez Indios last night to take the Islands biggest baseball title and Reynoso was a big piece of that puzzle. The team will now travel to represent Puerto Rico in the Caribbean World Series which brings the winners of each country to fight for the Caribbean title.

Teams that are a part of this are Dominican Republic, Columbia, Panama, Mexico, Venezuela and Cuba.  DR has the most Caribbean World Series titles with 19 while Puerto Rico is right behind them at 16.

Reynoso didn’t just win the Puerto Rico title, he was also named  as the right hander of the year and to the All Star Puerto Rico team.  An achievement most dream of during for the Winter Leagues.

Eddy appeared in a total of 14 games while pitching 21 innings of work.  He only gave up 1 earned run on 11 hits  during his relief appearances  while striking out 7 batters.  What made him a game changer?  He also won 5 games which was the most by any pitcher in the entire league.
