MACALUSO DROPS 3 BOMBS IN ROUTE TO A VICTORY

WASHINGTON, PA – The Saranac Lake Surge would take on the second place Brilliance Sox in todays 2nd matchup of the day.

Left handed pitcher Leo Madrid would take the mound for the Surge against Sean Johnson of the Sox.

Dustyn Macaluso wasted no time as he homered on the first pitch of the game to deep left field. The Sox would get another run on a Trey Bigford base hit that scored Ben Andrews to take a 2-0 lead in the 1st.

Surge would answer with one of their own when Taylor Olmstead reached first on a walk, steal second and scored on a base hit by Tyler Hill to make the score 2-1.

Sox would plate 2 more in the top of the 2nd on a couple of errors by Surge infielders to make it 4-1.

Dustyn Macaluso would continue having a day by hitting his second homer of the season. A solo shot to left field to make it 5-1.

Leo Madrid would go 6 innings of work striking out 8 total batters and only 3 runs earned.

Surge would get one more in the bottom of the 8th inning when Taylor Olmstead would single in Alexis Monge who tripled to start the inning and cut the lead to 5-2.

Tyler Hill ends the day going 4 for 4 and enough to get the call up to York Revolution for the 2021 season.

Dustyn Macaluso had a monster day hitting his 3rd bomb of the game. Another 2 run shot to give the Sox a 7-2 lead and the victory.

Both teams will continue play tomorrow at 11:00 am ET and 3:00 pm ET.

CAS SILBER FANS 12 IN ROUTE TO ANOTHER BLACK SOX VICTORY

WASHINGTON, PA – The visiting Tupper Lake Riverpigs would take on the first place Road Warrior Sox in todays first Empire League Series matchup.

Black Sox starter Cas Silber would take on Riverpigs left hander Dimitri Nunez.

The Black Sox took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first on a sacrifice fly to centerfield by Joe Torre to score Marten Pauwels.

Cas Silber was outstanding as he had 5 strikeouts going into the 3rd inning. Marcus Guzman would be the first guy to get a hit in the 4th on a double to right center. Silber would finish the inning with his 7th strikeout through 4 innings played.

A second run would come in the game or the Sox after a routine double play turned into an error that kept the inning alive. The very next hitter grounded to third where another error was made to score a run.

Dimitri Nunez would go 6 innings for the Riverpigs allowing just 1 run on 4 hits striking out 5 batters. He would not get any run support and would be in line for the loss.

Cas Silber would leave the game after throwing 8 solid innings allowing no runs on 3 hits and striking out an impressive 12 batters.

Ken Williams would come in to close it for the Black Sox but got into a bit of a jam with bases loaded and 1 out but would get himself out of it to get the save.

PITCHING DUO ENDS IN A LATE ONE RUN WIN FOR THE BLACK SOX

WASHINGTON, PA – The rivalry and battle for first place continues as the Road Warrior Black Sox take on the Brilliance Sox during the second game of todays Empire League Series matchups.

On the mound today are two talented ones in Nick Garcia for the Black Sox and Luis Nova for the Brilliance Sox.

Nothing going through the first three innings as great pitching by both Garcia and Nova prevented any offense. Garcia allowed 1 hit and struck out 3 batters matching Nova’s 3 strikeouts through 3.

The first run of the game would come in when a sacrifice fly to left by Vee Desai scored pinch runner Alex Polka to take a 1-0 lead in the top of the 5th.

Luis Nova would come out of the game after 5 innings pitched. He would finish allowing just a single hit, 1 earned run and striking out 7 batters.

Garcia would go the distance in this one allowing just 3 hits, no runs striking out 7 batters.

Both teams will continue play tomorrow at 11:00 am ET and 3:00 pm ET.

MAGUIRE TOSSES COMPLETE GAME IN WIN OVER SURGE

WASHINGTON, PA – Battle of the Adirondacks continued today when the visiting Saranac Lake Surge took on the Tupper Lake Riverpigs.

Top of the first inning Conor Maguire starting for the Tupper Lake Riverpigs would give up 2 runs on 2 walks and two hits. Will Thomas who walked to start the game would score on a single by Kyle Robinson. Cory Alexander would score the second run on a sacrifice fly by Kezlin Douglas to take an early 2-0 lead.

Riverpigs would respond with one of their own in the bottom of the first when Miguel Molina would drive in Nicholas Ybarra to cut the lead in half.

Surge would strike again in the top of the 3rd inning when Kezlin Douglas doubled in a run to deep right center and give the Surge a 3-1 lead.

Riverpigs would fight back to score one in the bottom of the third on a base hit to the right side by Aramis Cruz to score Steven Rodriguez who singled earlier in the inning to cut the lead by 1.

Riverpigs would tie the game in the bottom of the 4th when Steven Rodriguez reached on a bases loaded fielders choice to score Wyatt German. They would then take the lead on a bases loaded walk from Nicholas Ybarra to score Tyler Bailey. 2 more runs would come in to score on a gaper by Aramis Cruz to left center to make the score 6-3. Jose Zacarias would return to the lineup with a single to drive in Nicholas Ybarra for the 5th run of the inning.

Conor Magurie would go the complete game allowing just 3 runs on 5 hits to improve the Riverpigs to (6-7). Surge would drop to (2-11)

SOX COMEBACK FROM DOWN 6 TO WIN IT IN THE END

WASHINGTON, PA – The second matchup of the day was between the Brilliance Sox and the Tupper Lake Riverpigs.

Starters for this one was Stephen Cardiello for the Riverpigs and the Brilliance Sox will bring left hander Cole Bumbales.

Top of the 1st inning Cody Lovejoy led off with a double off the left center wall. He would end up scoring on a sacrifice fly to right field by Ben Andrews to give the Sox a 1-0 lead.

The Riverpigs answered immediately when Marcus Guzman walked to lead it off, Steven Rodriguez would double to make it runners on 2nd and 3rd with no one out. Nicholas Ybarra also doubled to deep left center to score Guzman and Rodriguez. Aramis Cruz joined the doubles party with one of his own scoring Nicholas Ybarra. Cruz would end up scoring on a sacrifice fly to right field by Josh Goulet to make it a 4-1 game.

Sox answered in the Top of the 2nd inning with a run to cut the lead in half.

Riverpigs would continue their offensive production led by first batter of the inning in the bottom of the 4th in Brandon Camargo who singled to left. With bases loaded, Marcus Guzman would walk in the first run of the inning. Steven Rodriguez would ground into a fielders choice in which a throwing error caused another run to score. Nicholas Ybarra continues his impressive streak of hitting with another single to the right side to score Guzman and Rodriguez for the 4th runs of the inning and a 8-2 Riverpigs lead.

After the Sox scored one in the top of the 5th inning, the Riverpigs answered with one of their own with a double by Marcus Guzman to score Tyler Bailey and take a 9-3 lead.

Lot of offense in this game as Tyler Reis lead off the top of the 6th inning with a monstrous homer over the left field wall to make it 9-4. 2 runs would come in on a 2 out clutch triple by Trey Bigford to make it 9-6.

After a series of walks by the Riverpigs bullpen, Cody Lovejoy singles up the middle with 2 outs to score 2 runners and take a 10-9 comeback lead and the victory.

Both Teams will continue play tomorrow at 11:00 am ET and 3:00 pm ET for more Empire League Series action.
