QUINN TOSSES 7 COMPLETE IN RIVERPIGS WIN

WASHINGTON, PA – The visiting Tupper Lake Riverpigs took on the Brilliance Sox for game 10 of the Empire League Series.

Zach Quinn would get the start for the Riverpigs in this one against Doug Olcese of the Brilliance Sox.

Riverpigs would get things going in the top of the 2nd inning when Brandon Camargo lined to left field for a base hit scoring Steven Rodriguez. Camargo would end up scoring on a single up the middle by Nicholas Ybarra as they both continue their tremendous hitting streak.

The Black Sox would get on the board in the bottom of the third inning when Ben Andrews was hit by the pitch with bases loaded.

Riverpigs would take a 5-1 lead when Josh Goulet belted his first home run of the year deep to left field. A 2 run shot that would score Steven Rodriguez.

The first hit for the Sox would come in the bottom of the 5th inning when Cody Lovejoy would break up Quinn’s no-no. The Sox would score a run on a sac fly by Dustyn Macaluso.

Zach Quinn would toss a great game for the Riverpigs going 7 complete allowing 2 runs on 3 hits striking out 3 batters. Sean Rivera would come in to close the game and break the Riverpigs losing streak.

Both Teams will play tomorrow at 9:00am and 1:00pm for more Empire League Series action.

KEN WILLIAMS TOSSES COMPLETE GAME IN WIN OVER SURGE

WASHINGTON, PA – The Saranac Lake Surge would take on the Road Warrior Black Sox in todays Empire League matchup.

Derek Reddy would lead things off for the Black Sox belting a big home run off Surge starter Leo Madrid in the bottom of the first inning.

The Black Sox would take a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the 2nd when Joe Torre singled in a run and following him was Derek Reddy once again scoring Pete Yorgen with a ground ball to shortstop.

The Black Sox added a few more in the 5th inning of a 4 hits that would take out the Surge starter and go into the 6th leading 6-0.

The Surge got on the board in the top of the 6th inning when Richard Miller and Eddie Suri scored for the Surge on a error by the second baseman. John Tierney Jr would then singled to center to score Sid Kumar to cut the lead in half.

The Black Sox would go on to defeat the Surge and reclaim first place. Ken Williams would start and finish this one going a complete game allowing just 3 runs and striking out 4.

Both Teams will continue play tomorrow at 9:00am and 1:00pm for more Empire League Series action.

SURGE COMEBACK FALLS SHORT TO THE SOX

WASHINGTON, PA – The Saranac Lake Surge took on the first place Brilliance Sox in the second matchup of the Empire League Series today.

Ean Walda would get the start for the Brilliance Sox against Ryan Tomao of the Saranac Lake Surge.

It was an eventful inning as the Sox took a 1-0 lead in the top half. But the Surge answered in the bottom half of the inning when lead off hitter Taylor Olmstead hit a monster shot over the center field wall for the first run of the game and his second home run of the season.

With the Brilliance Sox leading 2-1 in the bottom of the 4th inning, Eddie Suri singled to the right side to score Tyler Hill and tie the game at 2.

Trey Hunt doubled in Ben Andrews who had doubled to get things going for the Sox in the Top of the 6th, and Hunt would score on a 3rd double by Tyler Reis to bring the score to 4-2. Ed Millian would create some breathing room for the Sox as he singled in two more Sox runners with 2 outs to give the sox a 6-2 lead.

Dustyn Macaluso would take advantage of the deflated Surge as he hit a line drive to center in which the ball was misplayed and went over Surge centerfielders head for a Sox triple that would score two more. Macaluso himself scored on a wild pitch to make the score 9-2.

Surge answered in the bottom half when Cory Alexander scored on a double by Tyler Hill. Kyle Robinson would be driven in by Richard Millers grounder to first and Hill would follow on a grounder to short by Eddie Suri to make the score 9-5.

In the bottom of the 8th Inning, Richard Miller would hit his first homer of the year to right field. A 2 run home run on a ball that traveled 435 feet to bring the score to 9-7.

The Surge would make things interesting in the bottom of the 9th inning getting bases loaded for their clean up hitter Tyler Hill. Hill would ground to first base to make the game 9-8 with runners on 2nd and 3rd and 2 outs. With bases loaded after an intentional walk, Hassan Westbrook would get Eddie Suri to ground out to end the game.

Both teams will play tomorrow at 11:00am and 3:00pm as we continue Empire League Series play.

GARCIA TOSSES COMPLETE GAME SHUTOUT OVER THE RIVERPIGS

WASHINGTON, PA – The visiting Tupper Lake Riverpigs took on the first place Road Warrior Black Sox in todays Empire League Series match up.

The Black Sox sent out right handed pitcher Nick Garcia to face the Tupper Riverpigs right hander Conor Maguire.

Brandon Camargo would continue his hitting streak along with Nicholas Ybarra early on when Ybarra singled into left center and Camargo doubled down the right field line.

Zane Gelphman would get the Black Sox going as he belted another home run over the left field wall to give the Black Sox a 3-0 lead in the Bottom of the third inning. It was the teams first hit with 2 runners on who reached on walks.

Conor Maguire started for the Riverpigs throwing 5 innings allowing 4 earned runs and striking out 4 batters.

Nick Garcia would be the story in this one as he tossed a complete game shutout to defeat the Tupper Lake Riverpigs.

Both teams would continue play tomorrow at 11:00 am and 3:00 pm for more Empire League Series action.

BLACK SOX OFFENSE TAKES OVER DEFEATING BRILLIANCE BIG

WASHINGTON, PA –  The first place Brilliance Sox took on the 2nd place and rival Road Warrior Black Sox in todays second Empire League Series matchup featuring starters Max Maarleveld for the Sox and Zack Leblanc for the Road Warrior.

The Road Warrior Sox came out swinging scoring 5 runs in the top of the 1st inning.

They would score one more in the top of the 2nd inning and add 2 more in the 4th on a RBI single by Omar Artsen to make the score 8-0 in favor of the Black Sox.

Zac Leblanc would cruise through the Brilliance Sox as he went 5.2 Innings not allowing a single run, just one hit striking out 5 batters and taking the victory. The Black Sox would improve to (6-2) while the Brilliance Sox move to (6-2) as well tied for 1st place in the 2020 Empire League Series.

Both teams will continue play tomorrow with games beginning at 11:00am and 3:00pm.
