RIVERPIGS PIGS BULLPEN GIVES UP LEAD IN LATE LOSS TO BLACK SOX

WASHINGTON, PA – The visiting Road Warrior Black Sox took on the Tupper Lake Riverpigs in todays make up game matchup.

Tupper Lake Riverpigs starter Stephen Cardiello would face off against Jeremy Worlinski of the Black Sox.

Black Sox got on the board first with one run in the top of the 2nd inning when Frank Podkul advanced to second on a 2 out error by Riverpigs third baseman. He would then score on a 2 out single by Alex Polka.

Riverpigs would answer in the bottom half with 3 runs. Josh Goulet led off with a walk, Miguel Molina doubled, Steven Rodriguez drew a walk to load the bases for Jose Zacarias who singled in Goulet and Molina. Steven Rodriguez would score on a double steal to make the game 3-1.

In the top of the third, Black Sox would answer with a run when Marten Pauwels tripled with two outs and was driven in by Jermond Williams.

Riverpigs however would answer right back with one of their own when Josh Goulet drove in Aramis Cruz from first on a deep line drive double to left center and make the score 4-2.

Black Sox once again would get on the board on a big two out triple by Jesus Salcedo to score Frank Podkul but would be thrown out at home trying to score. That run would make it a 4-3 game.

Sean Rivera would come in to try and close it out for the Riverpigs, but the Black Sox changed that after a quick strikeout, Rivera loaded up the bases on walks, two runs would come in on 2 more walks, and another 2 on a line drive in the gap by Jerry Chavarria to score 2 more.

Riverpigs had no response in the bottom half and the game would end 8-4 in favor of the Black Sox.

Both teams will continue play tomorrow at 9:00 am ET and 1:00pm ET.

KWITZER WALKS IT OFF FOR THE SURGE IN RIVAL GAME

WASHINGTON, PA – The visiting Tupper Lake Riverpigs took on the Saranac Lake Surge in todays first  rivalry game matchup.

Right hander Kyle Grant will be on the hill for the Riverpigs while Layne Gusler will get the ball for the Surge.

Riverpigs would get on board first when Colton Adams scored on a ground ball by Nicholas Ybarra. The Surge would answer in the bottom of the 1st when Taylor Olmstead would lead things off for the Surge hitting a home run over the left field wall on the first pitch of the game.

Riverpigs would take a 2-1 lead when Josh Goulet hit a Solo Home Run over the dead center field wall in the top of the 4th.

After giving up a run on the first pitch of the game, Kyle Grant settled in as that would be the only run to score through 5 innings. But in the 6th inning, Taylor Olmstead would take him deep to center with a runner on base once again and out of the game as Olsmtead gives the lead back to Surge 3-2.

Chris Kwitzer would end this one with a monster walk off home run to deep center.

Both teams will continue play tomorrow at 11:00 am ET and 3:00pm ET.

MACALUSO HOMERS AGAIN, BRUCE BELL EARNS ANOTHER VICTORY

WASHINGTON, PA – The visiting Tupper Lake Riverpigs took on the second place Brilliance Sox in the 2nd game of today’s Empire League Series play.

Bruce Bell would get the ball for the Sox while Jorge Murillo would get his first start of the season for the Riverpigs.

Brilliance Sox would get on the board first when Tyler Reis would reach base on an error by Riverpigs third baseman to score Dustyn Macaluso. A second run would plate on a Balk call by Riverpigs pitcher.

The Sox would take out the Surge Starter in the the 3rd inning when Trey Bigford doubled to right center to score Ben Andrews.

Dustyn Macaluso would hit his 4th homer in 2 days in the bottom of the 4th inning for the Brilliance Sox to make it a 7-0 game.

Bruce Bell would go 6 complete innings without allowing a single run. He would strike out 3 batters and only giving up 3 hits and earn another victory.

Both Teams will continue play tomorrow at 11:00 am ET and 3:00 pm ET for more Empire League Series action

SURGE OFFENSE SHOWED POWER IN WIN

WASHINGTON, PA –  Today’s first matchup featured the Saranac Lake Surge versus the first place Road Warrior Black Sox.

Sean Lubreski would start for the first place Black Sox against Donnell Hightower of the Surge.

Surge would get on the board first when Chris Kwitzler would get his first homer of the series over the left center wall.

The Surge would add 3 more in the 3rd inning when James Guererri scored on a double by Kyle Robinson, Olmstead would score on a ground ball by Chris Kwitzler and Robinson would score on a sac fly by Tyler Hill.

A big 4th inning for the Surge as they would bat around scoring 6 runs on 6 hits including doubles from Robinson and Kwitzler and a big home run by Sid Kumar to make it 10-2 Surge.

In the 5th Inning the Surge would once again explode for 5 more runs including a second homer of the game by Chris Kwitzler.

Sid Kumar would hit a second homer in the game to give the Surge a commanding lead.

Donnell Hightower would pitch a great game for the Surge going 6 innings striking out 3 batters and earning the big victory over the first place Black Sox

Both  teams will continue play tomorrow at 11:00 am ET and 3:00 pm ET.

TYLER HILL SIGNED TO THE YORK REVOLUTION OF THE ATLANTIC LEAGUE FOR 2021

WASHINGTON, PA – Surge catcher Tyler Hill will be wearing a new uniform for 2021 as he has officially been signed to the York Revolution of the Atlantic League for the 2021 season.

Tyler Hill has been displaying a great amount of talent offensively and defensively and will continue to learn from Manager Mark Mason who is currently his manager with the Saranac Lake Surge of the 2021 Empire League Series.

No better way to end a 4 for 4 day then to get the news that Hill will be wearing a York Revolution jersey next year.

“I have no words, I’m very thankful for the coaches, my family, Mark Mason and the Empire League for this amazing opportunity. I couldn’t have done it without them.”

Hill will continue to perform and learn from his future manager Mark Mason as the Surge look to finish strong in the Empire League Series.
