RIVERAS RELIEF, RODRIGUEZ POWER GIVE RIVERPIGS FIRST WIN OVER RIVALS

WASHINGTON, PA – The Tupper Lake Riverpigs defeated the Saranac Lake Surge to take the first victory of the Adirondack rivalry.

The Surge took an early 4 to 0 lead in the second inning when walks would fill the bases with Surge runners and also score them.

The Riverpigs answered with a couple of runs when Aramis Cruz singled in Colton Adams and Nicholas Ybarra to make the game 4-2.

The Riverpigs would go on to have a monster 5th inning led by Steven Rodriguez who belted his first and teams first home run of the season. A 390foot 2 run homer over the left field wall.

The game would go on to be a very close game to the end. Heading into the 8th inning the score was even at 7, but the Riverpigs would change that after an error on the left fielder for the Surge that would’ve ended the inning. That error led to a bases loaded walk to give the Riverpigs the 8-7 lead.

Jose Zacarias would come in to close the game and improve the Riverpigs to (2-1) while the Surge lose their 3rd straight one run game and fall to (0-3).

Sean Rivera was live saving for the Riverpigs going 5 innings out of the pen allowing only 4 hits while striking out 5 batters and earning the win.

Taylor Olmstead continued his hitting going 2 for 4 with a run and a stolen base with Eddie Suri joining him with 2 hits of his own and 2 RBI’s.

Nicholas Ybarra is doing what Ybarra does as he adds 2 more hits to his total. Joining him in the hit parade were Colton Adams, Miguel Molina, Steven Rodriguez, Josh Jubile and Brandon Camargo who all also had 2 hits each.

Both teams will continue play tomorrow with the Surge playing at 11:00am and the Riverpigs playing at 3:00pm.

BRILLIANCE SOX TAKE DOWN TUPPER LAKE RIVERPIGS IN LATE COMEBACK

WASHINGTON, PA – The Brilliance Sox took on the Tupper Lake Riverpigs today to fight for sole first place and the Sox came up on top with their last inning rally.

The Riverpigs starter Conor Maguire tossed 4.2 innings of work striking out 3 batters and allowing just 3 hits. He would leave the game winning but could not capture the Win as a the Sox worked up a 3 run final inning to win.

Max Maarleveld tossed 4 innings for the Sox allowing 3 runs and also striking out 3. Colin Shaw would take the win for the Sox tossing 3 innings.

The Sox offense was led by Cody Lovejoy who went 3 for 4 with a double, triple and a big 3 RBI’s late in the game. Ben Andrews also finished the day 2 for 2 with 2 runs and a double.

Nicholas Ybarra for the Riverpigs has been on fire to start off the series as his 2 for 3 day now puts him at 5 for 7 for the series.

Both teams will play tomorrow with the Riverpigs playing at 11:00am versus the Rival Surge and the Brilliance Sox will face the Road Warrior Black Sox at 3:00pm ET. Fans are welcomed to attend games.

OFFENSIVE PRODUCTION LIFTS BLACKSOX OVER SURGE

WASHINGTON, PA – The Road Warriors Black Sox have defeated the Saranac Lake Surge by the score of 12-7 to give the Black Sox their first win of the Season.

The Black Sox exploded for 6 runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning which included a single to the right side by Black Sox centerfielder Derek Reddy that scored 2 runs.

The team would go on to tack on 4 in the 7th inning with 2 big blasts. One by shortstop Zane Gelphman and the other by Marten Pauwels.

Derek Reddy led the way offensively going 3 for 2 with 2 runs, 2 RBI’s and 5 stolen bases.

For the Surge, Taylor Olmstead would blast his first and leagues first home run of the season over the left field wall. Olmstead finished the day going 3 for 4 with 3 runs 2 RBI’s a stolen base and a double.

David Tiskevics pitched well for the Surge going 2.2 innings allowing just 2 hits and 0 runs. For the Black Sox, Joseph Jones would close the game out in 2 innings striking out 3 batters.

The Surge drop to (0-2) while the Black Sox improve to (1-1). Both teams will continue play tomorrow at Washington Wild Things park.

BRILLIANCE SOX COME FROM BEHIND LATE TO TAKE GAME ONE OVER THE SURGE

WASHINGTON, PA – The Saranac Lake Surge started the 2020 series off with a hard fought game versus the Baseball Brilliance Sox coming back from a 4 to zero deficit but late rally wasn’t enough.

The Saranac Lake Surge were behind 4 to zero going into the bottom of the 8th inning where the Surge only had 2 hits off Sox starting pitcher Bruce Bell who was very dominant going 8 innings of work striking out 5 batters before being taken out in the 8th inning. Bell earned his first win of the season.

Surge starter Carlos Canelon was very impressive in his first start going 5 innings giving up just 1 run and striking out 7 batters.

Surge scored 5 runs to take a 5 to 4 lead heading into the top of the 9th but a 2 out rally gave the Sox the lead and the win.

Kyle Robinson and Cory Alexander led the way offensively for the Surge with 2 hits each.

The Surge will take on the Road Warrior Black Sox tomorrow at 11:00am ET.

RIVERPIGS DEFEAT BLACK SOX FOR FIRST WIN IN TEAM HISTORY

WASHINGTON, PA –  The Tupper Lake Riverpigs made history in the Empire League today by defeating the Road Warrior Black Sox in the first game of the 2020 Empire League Series.

The Riverpigs scored the first run of the organization when Riverpigs Third Baseman Ronald Krsolovic hit a single in the 4th inning and scored on a triple by Aramis Cruz who would also score on great execution by Catcher Miguel Molina’s ground ball RBI.

Colton Adams would lead off the 5th inning with a single and stole second base and would eventually score on a wild pitch for the third run of the game.

The Black Sox would get on board in the top of the 7th when Marten Pauwels was hit by pitch, advanced to third on a pickoff error and scored on a wild pitch. But the Riverpigs would answer back with 5 runs with 3 of those runs coming on a base clearing pinch hit double by catcher David Grubaugh.

The Riverpigs would go on to finish the game winning its first in organization history by the score of 10-6.

Riverpigs Venezuelan ace Jose Zacarias went 5 inning not allowing a single run, striking out 8 and only allowing 1 hit and 1 walk.

Riverpigs shortstop Nicholas Ybarra was outstanding going 3 for 4 with a double, 2 runs and 2 stolen bases. Ybarra got the first hit in Riverpigs history as well the first stolen bases.

Aramis Cruz showed power with a double and a triple and 2 runs batted in.

The Riverpigs will take on the Baseball Brilliance Sox tomorrow at 3:00pm ET. Fans are welcomed.
