PLATTSBURGH, NY –  The Plattsburgh RedBirds have announced Brandon Robinson as the teams General Manager.

Brandon will be in charge of all of the teams ticket sales, marketing, promotions and business/game operations.  He comes to the Empire League with a wealth of knowledge in all that is required for the position and is a perfect fit for the Plattsburgh RedBirds. Brandon is an upstate New York native.

TAMPA, FL – It has been a long process for the Empire League to find Sullivan a Manager. Over 50 candidates were interviewed and the league has announced Jim Hayes will be the 2017 Sullivan Explorers Champions.

I will do the best of my abilities to make sure I can help all players in my team improve or move forward in their careers. I’m excited and ready for the season to begin.” – Jim Hayes

 

The Sullivan Explorers, who were the 2016 Empire League Champions, will look to repeat in 2017 under Jim Hayes who has been a long time independent coach of many players who have had the chance to move forward in their baseball careers.

TAMPA, FL – Nate Coronado of the 2016 Empire League Champions Sullivan Explorers signs with the Colorado Rockies.
The Sullivan Explorers star was one of the best players in the Empire league on its inaugural year.
Nate will be looking to earn a minor league roster spot in this years Spring training.

I am forever grateful for the opportunity given to play in the Empire League. Without it, I wouldn’t have had anywhere to play in 2016. Playing the game I love everyday gave me the opportunity to develop and get the experience necessary to even be considered for an affiliated spot! PLATTSBURGH, NY –  The Empire League has announced Joe Winkelsas  as the new manager of the Plattsburgh RedBirds.

Winkelsas, an upstate New York native,  was a former major league baseball pitcher. Played with the Atlanta Braves, Chicago White Sox and Milwaukee Brewers. He is no stranger to independent baseball as he coached with Sioux  Falls Canaries where he engineered one of the lowest team ERA’s in franchise history as well as the Somerset Patriots. Joe’s coaching method is known to be respected by professional ball club and is known to groom some of the best talent in baseball.

On January 29, 2009, Winkelsas became the first member inducted into the University of South Carolina Salkehatchie athletic hall of fame.

My attainable goals are to instill positive family values throughout the League, RedBirds team and the entire Plattsburgh community. Plattsburgh is a tough, hard working blue collar town.
