GARCIA TOSSES COMPLETE GAME SHUTOUT OVER THE RIVERPIGS

WASHINGTON, PA – The visiting Tupper Lake Riverpigs took on the first place Road Warrior Black Sox in todays Empire League Series match up.

The Black Sox sent out right handed pitcher Nick Garcia to face the Tupper Riverpigs right hander Conor Maguire.

Brandon Camargo would continue his hitting streak along with Nicholas Ybarra early on when Ybarra singled into left center and Camargo doubled down the right field line.

Zane Gelphman would get the Black Sox going as he belted another home run over the left field wall to give the Black Sox a 3-0 lead in the Bottom of the third inning. It was the teams first hit with 2 runners on who reached on walks.

Conor Maguire started for the Riverpigs throwing 5 innings allowing 4 earned runs and striking out 4 batters.

Nick Garcia would be the story in this one as he tossed a complete game shutout to defeat the Tupper Lake Riverpigs.

Both teams would continue play tomorrow at 11:00 am and 3:00 pm for more Empire League Series action.

BLACK SOX OFFENSE TAKES OVER DEFEATING BRILLIANCE BIG

WASHINGTON, PA –  The first place Brilliance Sox took on the 2nd place and rival Road Warrior Black Sox in todays second Empire League Series matchup featuring starters Max Maarleveld for the Sox and Zack Leblanc for the Road Warrior.

The Road Warrior Sox came out swinging scoring 5 runs in the top of the 1st inning.

They would score one more in the top of the 2nd inning and add 2 more in the 4th on a RBI single by Omar Artsen to make the score 8-0 in favor of the Black Sox.

Zac Leblanc would cruise through the Brilliance Sox as he went 5.2 Innings not allowing a single run, just one hit striking out 5 batters and taking the victory. The Black Sox would improve to (6-2) while the Brilliance Sox move to (6-2) as well tied for 1st place in the 2020 Empire League Series.

Both teams will continue play tomorrow with games beginning at 11:00am and 3:00pm.

CANELON FANS 9, SURGE WIN FIRST GAME WITH BIG OFFENSIVE DAY

WASHINGTON, PA – Rivals took the field in the 3rd battle of the Adirondacks in the Empire League Series.

Tupper Lake Riverpigs would take on the Saranac Lake Surge in the 11:00am matchup which featured Riverpigs Stephen Cardiello facing off against the Surge starter and Empire League Series strikeout leader Carlos Canelon.

The Surge would get things going in the first inning when Eddie Suri drove in Cory Alexander for the first run of the game.

In the 2nd inning the Surge would put up 4 more as Eddie Suri once again singled in a run followed by a 2 run single by first baseman Sid Kumar to make the game 7-0.

Riverpigs got themselves going in the bottom of the second when Steven Rodriguez would ground into a fielders choice to score the first un. Following him was Brandon Camargo who singled up the middle to drive in Josh Goulet for the 2nd run of the inning.

Surge came out swinging today as Taylor Olmstead reaches base in the top of the 3rd inning for the third time in the game and would score for the third time on a triple by center fielder Cory Alexander II.

Blinger Perez would come in to pitch for the Riverpigs in the third inning and immediately getting out of a jam as the first batter would ground into a double play.

The Surge would continue their offensive attack as the scored another run in the top of the fourth inning when John Tierney singled in the right center gap to score Alexis Monge.

Riverpigs would continue to chip away as Steven Rodriguez doubled to put runners on second and third for Brandon Camargo who doubled off the right field wall to bring in two runs and bring the score to 10-4.

Surge would answer right back when second baseman Alexis Monge doubled with bases loaded to score two runs. Following him was John Tierney Jr with a double down the right field line to score another two runs. Tierney would score on a single up the middle by Taylor Olmstead and the Surge would take a 15-4 lead.

Carlos Canelon would get the first Surge win going 5 complete innings striking out 9 batters and earning the victory.

The Surge would go on to defeat the Riverpigs in the 3rd match of the Adirondacks. Riverpigs still lead the series 2-1.

Both Teams will continue play tomorrow when the Tupper Lake Riverpigs take on the Road Warrior Black Sox at 11:00am and the Brilliance Sox take on the Saranac Lake Surge at 3:00pm

SOX STAY HOT WINNING THEIR 4TH STRAIGHT TO STAY IN FIRST

WASHINGTON, PA – The first place Brilliance Sox took on the 3rd place Tupper Lake Riverpigs in the 7th game of the Empire League Series.

Left hander Cole Bumbales would start for the Sox in this one facing off against right hander Sean Rivera of the Riverpigs.

Colton Adams led off for the Riverpigs with the first hit in the game. Miguel Molina would join him in the second inning with an infield single down the third base line.

The Sox would get things going in the top of the 3rd inning when Mark Demko and Dustyn Macaluso walked to lead off and would score on a bases loaded base hit by shortstop Ben Andrews to give the Sox a 2-0 lead. Riverpigs would balk in the 3rd run for the Sox.

Riverpigs would answer in the bottom half with a single by both Brandon Camargo and Tyler Bailey. Camargo would be thrown out at home plate on a fielders choice. Tyler Bailey would score on a wild pitch to cut the score to 3-1.

Bumbales would go 2 scoreless innings giving the ball off to Collin Shaw who would give up one run before Hassan Westbrook would take over for the Sox.

Sox would go on to do more work in the top of the 5th inning when Tyler Reis doubled with a runner on second base to score Cody Lovejoy.

Sean Rivera would finish throwing 4.2 innings allowing 4 earned runs 2 hits and striking out 4 batters.

The Sox would get another 2 runs in the 5th on a error by Riverpigs first baseman which resulted in a run followed by a wild pitch to score the 2nd bringing the score to 7-1.

Brandon Camargo would stay in this game hitting his 3rd hit of the day driving in the Riverpigs second run. Missed opportunity with bases loaded however would get the Sox out of a jam to keep the score at 8-2.

The Brilliance Sox would go on to defeat the Surge.

Both teams will continue play tomorrow for rivalry day at 11:00am and 3:00pm.

ROAD WARRIOR BLACK SOX CONTINUE THEIR STREAK

WASHINGTON, PA – The Road Warrior Black Sox took on the Saranac Lake Surge for the 7th game of the Empire League Series.

The Black Sox scored first in the bottom of the 3rd inning when Derek Reddy would attempt to steal third with 1 out and would end up scoring on a throwing error by the Surge catcher.

Not much offense going on in this one as the Black Sox had only 1 hit through 6 innings and 3 hits for the Surge. It was in the bottom of the 6th however, when Vee Desai would triple on a miss played ball by the Surge Left fielder with two outs to give the Black Sox a 3-0 lead.

Tyler Hill doubled for the Surge to deep left center field but the Surge couldn’t bring him in.

For the Black Sox, Jeremi Worlinski got the start going 7.2 innings pitched giving up no runs on 4 hits striking out 2 batters and earned himself the victory.

The Surge went with right hander Donnell Hightower who pitched a very good game for the Surge going 4.2 innings giving up just 1 hit and 1 earned run.

The Surge will play again tomorrow at 11:00am versus the rival Tupper Lake Riverpigs while the Black Sox will face the rival Brilliance Sox at 3:00pm.
